LCT Show Assures Limousine Operators Available Funding on Show Floor

The International LCT Show, is proud to announce that despite the tightening of the credit market, funding is available to operators looking to expand their fleets.

The LCT Show, January 26-28th at the Venetian/Palazzo Resort in Las Vegas, boasts a 100,000 square-foot show floor with vehicle manufacturers, coach builders, and industry suppliers such as funding, insurance, and software companies.

"Operators should not shy away from coming to the LCT Show because they think they won't obtain funding for a new vehicle off the show floor. Although lenders are being more conservative, there is capital and we are still lending," says Dan Dyson, of Pennsylvania based Brenner Financial.

"If your company is in the right financial position, this is the market to get great deals on cars."
Although money is available, the rules have changed. Now, lending institutions are requiring more proof such as financial history and bank statements. George Lee of A-Z Resources says, "The money is available and we want to lend it," but Lee offers a few tips for lessees on positioning your company for loan approval. "Keep credit card balances below 35 percent of the maximum limit, or spread balances over several cards. Next, keep money in your business checking account, $5,000 minimum if possible, or you can use your personal savings account demonstrate available cash. Last, don't let current vehicle payments get past 15 days of the due date."

Limousine Hire Checklist from Boston Car

1. Should I choose the cheapest limo? No! Would you choose the cheapest tyres for your car, would you choose the cheapest dressmaker to tailor your wedding dress? No. Because you want it done right, you want it done properly and you want you and your fellow passengers to be safe. By simply choosing the cheapest limo hire company you are at risk of arriving late, not arriving at all or arriving in a rusted, peeling cheap looking limousine.
2. Can I see the limo please? Ask to see the exact limo you are intending to hire. This way you will be sure it is exactly the one you want, in the condition it was described to you.
3. Can you put that in writing? Ask for a written contract including the exact model of the car, the date/s of your event and the full price. If the company is unwilling to give you this sort of contract, go somewhere else.
4. Are you insured? All limousines are required to be licensed and have hire and reward insurance. The companies also require permits to operate limousines. Ask to see this documentation because if the company is serious about good service and safety they will be willing and able to show you.
5. Are you a member? Ask the limo hire company if they are a member of any industry associations such as the National Limousine Association of UK. Associations such as this will have a screening process for their members, and membership to these types of associations shows commitment to the industry.

Limousine Industry Going Green

Canadian taxi industry is going green due to smaller fuel efficient cars replacing the larger sedans.

And limo industry is to follow too.

Jean Abi Aad has been driving cab in Calgary, Canada for eight years. Six months ago, he made the switch to a hybrid car and he says his passengers love it. "They are very pleased. They are impressed with the car because it has lots of room, lost of room for luggage. It's very quiet, they like it very much," he says.

Jean Abi Aad says his new hybrid allows him to travel up to 1,200 km on a 45L tank.

The owner of Mayfair Taxi, a local company that has made the hybrid switch, says by 2015 all the company's fleet will be made up of hybrids.

Next week, cab company owners in Calgary will be presenting a report to the Taxi Limousine Action Committee about the hybrid and how it performs in the city.

Calgary, CA limousine industry is also looking to smaller fuel efficient cars in near future also.

Taxi and Limousine Commision Cracks Down at Staten Island Ferry Terminal

The Taxi and Limousine Commission and the police were cracking down on illegal cabs at the St. George Ferry Terminal yesterday, a day after the Advance highlighted the problems with unlicensed taxis that pick up fares at the Staten Island commuter hub.

The TLC said it wants to hold drivers accountable and to make sure riders are safe when they get into a cab or limousine. Car services can only pick up pre-arranged rides, not hawk passengers on the street.

But some people who have come to rely on the car services parked outside the terminal exits weren't pleased yesterday when they didn't find their expected rides waiting for them.
